HERA partners gathered for a Transnational Project Meeting in Lisbon

The HERA project consortium met in Lisbon for their first transnational project meeting, on May 20–21, marking an exciting face-to-face start of this collaborative European initiative. Hosted by the project coordinator, NOVA Lisbon University – National School of Public Health, the meeting brought together all partner institutions for two days of discussion, team-building, and strategic planning.

The gathering began with warm welcome notes from the Project Coordinator, setting a positive tone for the event. The agenda featured an engaging mix of presentations and collaborative sessions, including a creative session that allowed partners to get to know one another better through the use f diverse objects.

The first day focused on foundational topics, such as the overall project overview and the thematic focus on “Women & Lifelong Learning”, allowing some of the project Associated partners to also participate in the event and present their organisations and interest.

The session on WP1, Management, Administration, and Coordination, focused on clarifying administrative procedures and addressing any doubts related to the project’s more bureaucratic aspects. This provided a foundation for smooth collaboration and ensured that all partners were aligned on reporting requirements, communication protocols, and general project governance.

In the WP2 session on Stakeholder Engagement, Outreach, and Sustainability, partners gathered in groups to initiate the drawing of the stakeholders mapping. This exchange marked the first step toward identifying and engaging key actors across sectors, which will be instrumental to the project’s long-term impact and visibility.

The first part of WP3, HERA Labs, focused on defining the methodological framework for the project’s core activities, and partners explored how the labs will be structured.

The evening concluded with a Lisbon cultural walk and a social dinner at the charming Pharmacia Felicidade restaurant, offering partners a taste of local culture and cuisine.

Day two continued with dynamic sessions, beginning with a creative team-building exercise titled “Imagine your HERA woman.” This activity strengthened team cohesion and allowed partners to reflect on and define the profile of the women the project aims to reach and engage through the HERA Labs. The session sparked meaningful dialogue around the needs, experiences, and aspirations of the “HERA woman,” setting a clear direction for the development of inclusive and impactful project activities.

Following this engaging start, the agenda shifted toward the continuation of WP3, where the focus moved to the development of the e-learning content. Partners discussed pedagogical strategies, content formats, and how to ensure the materials are accessible and relevant for the learners.

The meeting then progressed to WP4, dedicated to the creation of the HERA Community Portal, exploring the platform’s envisioned features and its role in supporting interaction among stakeholders.

Next, attention turned to WP5, where discussions centred on Policy Experimentation and the measurement of impact. In WP6, the focus shifted to drafting Policy Recommendations. The conversation emphasised the importance of translating project findings into actionable guidance for decision-makers at local, national, and European levels.
